A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card in Mint+ condition has officially become the most expensive trading card of all time. The previous holder of that distinction was a Horus Wagner card which sold for roughly $7.25 million. However, the 1952 rookie Mickey Mantle card sold for $12.6 million, due in part to its near pristine condition earning it a 9.5 gem-mint grade.
