Yes, Sony built a car, and it just bowed at CES in Las Vegas. The Vision-S Concept Car is their view of what the future of driving will look like and to showcase its automotive component building capabilities. The Vision-S has two 268-hp electric motors, a 0-62 mph time of 4.8 seconds, and a top speed of 149 mph. It also looks like a Porsche Taycan had sex with an old school Subaru SVX. But all that matters not because Sony won’t build it. Instead, it was an in-house project to display its 33 sensors for autonomous driving, driver awareness monitoring, and occupant recognition for customized infotainment for each person that uses surround sound speakers for every individual. It will never reach production, but it does offer up brilliant technology and personalized entertainment for when no one wants to drive.
