Cabot Watch Company (CWC) has been making field watches for the British military for half a century, and they’re celebrating their typical understated way with a special edition watch known simply as the Cabot Fifty. It’s comprised of a modestly-sized 38mm brass case whose material mimics British military webbing equipment. The black dial and white Arabic numerals and markers are punctuated by matching brass sword hands and a brass small second hand. Timekeeping duties come from a Swiss Sellita 216-1 Elabore automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. Topping things off are a domed acrylic crystal, a sapphire display back, a strap made from WWII parachute smocks, and a WWII-style Bren watch roll. If you want a watch that looks and feels like it’s been passed down from another time, this is it. Pre-orders will start at the end of this month.
