That’s right, a sealed copy of the favorite video game from your youth–one of the video games that aged surprisingly well, for the record–fetched over one-and-a-half million dollars at auction. The cultural significance of this particular game cannot be understated–incredible story, Mario franchise, the plumber’s first time in 3D, incredible replayability, piece of history, etc., etc.–but knowing the current market value kind of makes us want to go back in time 25 years and prevent our super excited, younger selves from ever opening it in the first place.
