The seventh-generation Ford Mustang is coming, and we’re just glad the legendary muscle car will live on when others are falling by the wayside. Ford even announced that it will build a racing-focused version known as the Dark Horse. Using the V8 GT trim level, it adds an enhanced Coyote V8 with about 500 horsepower, optional carb-fiber wheels (a first for a non-Shelby Mustang), and super sticky and staggered Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires. The engine, itself, is the most powerful naturally0-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 Ford has ever made. You can choose between a 10-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Both send power to the rear wheels through a limited slip-differential. The Dark Horse will also get MagneRide adaptive dampers, stiffer springs, thicker sway bars, and Brembo six-piston front brakes. In terms of looks, the Dark Horse gets its own unique front fascia, smoked headlights and taillights, and a fixed rear wing. Of course, it will also get special badging denoting the model, and it even gets exclusive Blue Ember metallic paint. Look for this track monster to hit showrooms next summer.
