“Picked up a bottle of this skin contact sav blanc at a local bottle shop in South Philly recently and it just might be my new favorite wine. ‘Funky passionfruit, fresh mint, caraway seed spice with drying, savoury tannins and a hint of smoky russian caravan character.’ Their words, not mine. “I have been plowing through single malt scotch all winter long and wanted a change-up for the transition to spring. Pendleton Midnight blended whisky struck just the right chord in terms of its fruit-forwardness combined with spice and leather. The Canadian whisky gets aged for over six years in American brandy Barrels, and it shows. The body is heavy but not overpowering, and the dark chocolate, oranges, and caramel sweetness on the palate deliciously betrays the very affordable $30 price tag.” Buy: $30
