In terms of rare vintage race cars, this bare-metal 1964 Porsche 904 GTS is drool-inducing. A scant 108 units were made, and this one was well-preserved with no paint and a near-pristine interior. The silver, unnumbered body houses a mid-mounted, quad-cam, air-cooled, four-cylinder engine good for 260 horses. If you think that number is low, then consider the fact that it only has to move 1,443 pounds of weight, making the car very quick, indeed. That’s mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Inside, the car has racing bucket seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, chrome shift knob, and a fire extinguisher. The rare car goes up for auction via RM Sotheby’s on February 1st.
